About Dr. Tiku

A scientist-led approach to health, habits, and whole-person well-being.

I bring together medicine, public health, and behavior change to help women build realistic habits that support how they want to feel, function, and live.

My path to prevention

I became interested in what happens before illness develops.

My foundation began in medicine where I saw firsthand how deeply health affects individuals and families. In clinical settings, I witnessed not only illness, but the emotional weight carried by patients and the people who loved them.

Over time, I became increasingly drawn to what happens before people become sick — the lifestyle patterns, environments, stressors, systems, and social influences that shape health long before someone ever seeks care.

I began to see that by addressing these upstream factors, there was an opportunity to help prevent disease, disability, and early death — not only by treating illness after it appears, but by supporting the behaviors and conditions that shape long-term health.

That realization led me to public health, where I focused on prevention, population health, and the behavioral and social factors that influence well-being.

As an immigrant woman who has navigated transitions across countries, educational systems, and disciplines, I also understand how deeply lived experience shapes health, resilience, and behavior change. Those experiences have deepened my awareness of the social and environmental factors that influence how people care for themselves and move through the world.

Restore with Dr. Tiku grew from this combined lens: scientific, personal, prevention-focused, and grounded in the realities of everyday life.

Education, advocacy, and impact

Translating complex health concepts into meaningful conversations.

In 2019, I had the honor of serving as Mrs. Wisconsin International, where I focused on mental health awareness, heart health, prevention, and whole-person well-being.

That experience pushed me beyond research and academic settings and into community education, public conversations, and advocacy. It expanded my ability to translate complex health concepts into language that feels clear, accessible, and meaningful.

It also reinforced something I continue to believe deeply: health is not just one part of who we are. It is shaped by our physical, mental, emotional, social, and environmental realities.

That whole-person perspective continues to shape the way I coach, educate, and support behavior change today.

Research-informed. Real-life focused.

Understanding how behavior, environment, and social context shape health.

My doctoral research was grounded in the Social-Ecological Model of health, which recognizes that behavior is shaped by more than individual choices. Stress, environment, relationships, routines, systems, social determinants of health, and lived experiences all influence how people care for themselves over time.

That perspective continues to shape the way I coach today: with compassion, realism, and an understanding that sustainable habits must fit within the realities of everyday life.

Through Restore with Dr. Tiku, I bring that public health lens into practical health coaching — helping women turn evidence-based guidance into habits that work in real life.

A compassionate approach to change

Support without judgment, pressure, or shame.

At the heart of my work is a different way of approaching health change.

I do not believe lasting change comes from shame, pressure, or one-size-fits-all advice. I believe change becomes possible when people feel understood, supported, and empowered to build habits that fit their actual lives.

My coaching is collaborative, evidence-based, and forward-moving — centered on non-clinical conversations that support realistic behavior change, accountability, and implementation.

Together, we focus on realistic implementation – helping you move from where you are now toward the vision you have for your health.

Ready for a more sustainable way forward?

Let’s build health habits that fit your real life.

If you are tired of starting over and ready for a more realistic, evidence-based approach to caring for your health, I would be honored to support you.
